Housing Authority of Danville
Danville, Kentucky
Since 1950, the Housing Authority of Danville has been dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable housing opportunities for residents of Danville and Boyle County, Kentucky. As a federally assisted agency regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), we serve our community through the Public Housing Program, ensuring safe and stable housing for very low- to low-income individuals, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities.
Governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners — including the Mayor and a Resident Commissioner — the Housing Authority of Danville owns and manages 394 public housing units across eleven neighborhoods. Housing assistance is income-based, ensuring accessibility to those in need.
Beyond housing, we are committed to enhancing the well-being of our residents by offering a range of supportive programs and services. These include:
- Community Gardening — Encouraging sustainable living and healthy food choices.
- Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program — Providing pathways to economic independence.
- Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) Program — Supporting residents in achieving personal and financial goals.
- Mobile Food Pantry & Food Box Distributions — Addressing food insecurity within our community.
- Senior Commodities Delivery Services — Assisting senior residents with essential food supplies.
- Community Service Center — Offering educational and recreational programs that promote discipline, respect, and personal growth.
At the Housing Authority of Danville, we are more than housing providers — we are community builders, striving to create opportunities that foster self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life for those we serve.
